Being transgender should never interfere with your right to vote—now or ever! Every eligible voter deserves to have their voice heard, regardless of their gender identity.

First-Time Voting at Your Polling Place

If it’s your first time voting at a particular polling place, you will be asked to present identification. If your gender identity doesn’t match your gender or presentation on the ID, you can still cast your vote! Here’s what you can bring:

  • Acceptable ID without a photo: Your county voter registration card is an acceptable form of ID.
  • Additional options: A bank statement or utility bill with your name and address is also valid.

Voting After Your First Time

Remember, you shouldn’t be asked for ID if it’s not your first time voting at that polling place.

Your Rights Matter

If you face intimidation, harassment, or are denied your right to vote because of your gender identity, don’t hesitate to seek help. You can call or text the nonpartisan Election Protection Hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) for immediate assistance.

Secure Your Vote

As we approach November 5th, take note: “Todos PA’ las Urnas!” Your vote counts, and it’s your right to make it count! For additional resources on voting rights and information, visit ACLU-PA’s Voting Rights page.
